reclaimed oak bench swing

The swing's top crosspieces are reclaimed hardwood oak floor laths. The laths were harvested from circa 1920 houses here in Winterset. Chose not to refinish thoak laths in order to preserve the decades-old wear patterns. The swing's skeleton is a conglomeration of rustic wood. A few bolts and some chain hold the swing securely to the pine tree.

Dreamed up the bench swing as an accessory to the rope swings Vanya and I made at JBU..
